Speed drop in the last few days

Hi,

I'm currently on the highest speed package (60Mbps+) available and was receiving in the 30Mbps speed range (minimum quoted speed @ 27Mbps); however, in the last couple of days it has dropped to around 10Mbps.

This is based on running a speedtest from an ethernet cable with the modem plugged into the master socket. I've ran this test at multiple times during the night and day, i.e. peak and off-peak.

Any idea why this has happened?

Some additional info from my HomeHub:

Firmware: Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.237.2.2 Last updated 04/08/17

6. Data rate: 4125 / 20559
7. Maximum data rate: 4305 / 24413
8. Noise margin: 6.3 / 6.4
9. Line attenuation: 36.2 / 23.8
10. Signal attenuation: 35.6 / 19.0

 

Latest speedtest confirms data rate shown in row 6; however, that is still below minimum guaranteed speed.

Thanks for getting in touch.

 

I can see that you've raised this with my colleague last week and that he created a ticket for you here.

 

If the speed is still the same with the router connected to the test socket (not the master socket, as per the ticket info), please raise a fault here and we'll get our supplier to take a look at this for you.

Thanks Dave, I've just done the troubleshooter. Here are the line stats when I returned home from work... 6. Data rate: 3657 / 4543 7. Maximum data rate: 3816 / 5157 8. Noise margin: 6.7 / 6.4 9. Line attenuation: 47.9 / 32.4 10. Signal attenuation: 38.4 / 29.3
