Speed and IP Drop

My fibre speed has suddenly dropped from a consistent 37Mbps to around 25 or even lower
http://www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk/results.php?t=1426079269&v=23928666
The IP profile on my line (according to the BT wholesale test), has dropp from 40 to 33.
I've disconnected the broadband (via a laptop and not on the openreach modem), but nothing is changing.
Is there a problem anywhere please?

Re: Speed and IP Drop

Tell me about it, but unless it improves not fit for purpose. I have contacted Plusnet help on Twitter was supposed to be a copper joint somewhere?

Re: Speed and IP Drop

HI, if you could raise a ticket to us at faults.plus.net and run a speed test at speedtest.btwholesale.com/ We will then be able to investigate the order for you.
Thank you
Jo

Re: Speed and IP Drop

Just got home and done a little channel hopping - managed to get the speed to raise to 33.5mbps, which is still lower than the usual 37mbps but I think I would appear to be being petty if I raised a fault.
I'll keep an eye on it...... Roll_eyes

Re: Speed and IP Drop

Nope - gone again.  Down to 25mbps again, so raised a support ticket.
Don't know what's happening as it's been rock solid for the last 6 months.  Just hope this isn't the start of things to come. Sad

Re: Speed and IP Drop

When you download something what speed are you getting(actual download speed)?
The reason I ask is speedtest.net was reporting earlier a download of 2mbps and upload of 8.2mbps(shortly after installing a HH5) for me and BT wholesale test has not reported my connection above 15mbps for a week yet I still average 3.8MB true download.

Re: Speed and IP Drop

Only downloading at less than 1mbps. I used to be getting about 4ish.
I don't use speedtest check as I find it unreliable, which is why I use the BT one.

Re: Speed and IP Drop

Hard wired the laptop straight into the Openreach modem (at the request of Plusnet staff) and speed seems to be up tonight to 34.68mbps, but the IP profile is still lower at 36.37, when it's always been above 40.
I'll monitor over the next few days and see what happens.

Re: Speed and IP Drop

Your sync speed has dropped slightly to 37.6Mbps, this ties in with the profile you're now seeing. This can increase again as long as the line stays stable and free of errors.
