Special offer if I upgrade ?

I know I can get this answered if I phone up but I didn't fancy the 30 minute wait to seek to someone, if I upgrade my current broadband package (currently free for 18 months) to fibre, will I get the £5 per month special offer ?

Probably not unless you leave and go somewhere else first.

Plusnet don't make any serious attempt to retain their customers.

You may well do - and the queue for Retentions is usually quite short as it isn't the same set of Agents

They probably want you to agree to a 24 month contract.

Offered me a few £ off only to stay but subject to 24 month contract.

Competition offered £13 a month less on 12 month contract.

Was 2 years ago prior to my present Plusnet service.

They did not let Open Reach mess them about.

Re: Special offer if I upgrade ?

Yep that's what they did, at first it was £12.50 for 18 months which I turned down, then some guy phones me back and offered me £8.50 for 24 months which I took, didn't have much choice really as it would have cost over £100 to go elsewhere, in all fairness they waived the connection charge of £50 so all in all I think it's a pretty good deal, shame the waiting times are so bad when you phone them up.
