Slow throughput on new fibre package

Hello all

 

I recently joined Plusnet a little under a week ago. I am aware that it takes around 10 days for the line to settle down but i'm so far not convinced. I have a DrayTek 2860n+ and it tells me that me line can support a maximum of 49mb (currently synced at 48ish), however after doing various speed tests for the past few days I cannot get a result higher than 20mb throughput. down I have even run the BT Openreach speed test and even that says my line is underperforming, however my upload speeds are spot on!

My current setup is as follows:

  • Unlimited Fibre (up to 76mb)
  • DrayTek 2860n+ VSDL Router
  • Brand new VSDL MK3 faceplate
  • RJ11 to RJ45 Cat6 from socket to Router
  • Pro Add-on
  • Static IP
  • All devices connected via Cat6 Ethernet cable

Any ideas what is going on? My Line statistics are in the attached image

could be your PN profile hasn't adjusted yet, what does it say here https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed ?

also there is no initial training period for fibre

That seems to the issue then, that needs to be corrected.

Use chat or give them a call tomorrow and say your profile needs to be updated.

I spoke to tech support and the guy there has updated my IP profile to what it should be. I am currently getting 42mb throughput over wireless which is what I was originally hoping for. I know ethernet will be slightly more so i'm happy!
