Slow speed from the router

Hi guys,

 

I'm currently struggling with very low download speeds. There was an error on the account, which meant I've been paying for unlimited fibre but only getting broadband. (3-5 download - 0.4 upload - wireless). This has been rectified and, as of Thursday, the line has been switched, but now it's still 4-5 download with 8-9 upload - wireless. 

 

I've spoken to a very helpful guy on the chat, who helped me set up the 5ghz, but even that is still giving the download speeds as just under 5mbps.

 

The router is telling me the connection speed is, as below: 

 DSL Line Status

Connection Information

Line state: Connected

Connection time: 0 days, 11:09:21

Downstream: 39.99 Mbps

Upstream: 9.999 Mbps

 

Am I missing something? 

 

BT Broadband Availability Checker is giving me this, as the attachment:

 

 

I can't do the BT performance check, as I don't have a computer I can connect to the router via ethernet.

 

Any further ideas as to why I'm losing so much from the router to the device(s)?

Bumping this to the top with some more information.

 

Had the router checked out via ethernet connection and it's definitely only receiving less than 5mbps.

 

Upload at 9 mbps.

 

 

It looks like the issue is somewhere coming in to the house.

 

Plusnet techs, where do we go from here?

Try asking PlusNet support to update your Current line speed as that could be the problem. Your first post says 

"Downstream: 39.99 Mbps" which is your sync speed implying that the connection into your house is perfectly OK.

You probably won't get an response from staff on the forum today so try phoning or using chat.

But BTW says im getting 34Mb?
