Slow download

For at least the last week my download speed has been less than half of what I'm paying for.

 

No problems with the upload speed.

On a wired connection? It is probably worth running through the checks and logging this as a fault even given the time of year so that it is in the queue for action after the holidays. https://www.plus.net/apps/kbdfaults

Hi Kevin.

Our tests are detecting a potential line fault so I've raised that to our suppliers now.
We'll be in touch when we've got more info.

Returning to problem as I've just returned from holiday.

 

On the advice of the Open Reach engineer who came to my house I moved the Hub One next to the faceplate using supplied cables. I should add that the engineer was getting full speed on his tests.

Connection information on the Hub show 80 Mbps down  and 20 Mbps up.

Speed tests on 3 different devices using wireless and cable gives 17 to 18 up and 30 to 31 down.

Therefore I can only conclude that the problem is further upstream than my connection.

[Edit] Also I had the same results using a BT Hub 5.

The problem still exists.

 

Checked today gives the same results as Saturday.

This has been going on now for nearly 2 months.

Sorry to hear you're having issues.

Our tests aren't showing any problems.

Can you carry out a speedtest here over a wired connection?

Once you've done that you'll need to click 'Further Diagnostics' and enter your telephone number to upload the result.

I don't know what you did but speeds are now back to what I had before the problem.

 

I'll leave it for a week or two and if things are still ok I'll flag this as fixed.
