Slow Speeds

Just wondering if there is a problem in my area, just hit some really low speeds this morning, its relatively half of what the download speed should be and normally is.

Hi @Beermonsta,

 

Nothing is flagging up during testing, however your sync speed (25Mbps) is definitely lower than I'd expect, given the estimates for your line.

 

Could you go through our troubleshooting guide here and if you continue to experience problems after this, please report a fault and let us know once you've done this.

Thanks for the reply Harry,

 

I have a suspicion to what the problem is, Ive had a fair few disconnections these past few days due to a dodgy electricity supply, It may be that Plusnet or Openreach are limiting my speeds thinking there's a fault somewhere!

 

Strange that its only just kicked in though, but the speed is slowly on the rise.

It looks like your line is banded.

Profile Name 0.128M-25M Downstream, Error Protection Off - 0.128M-2M Upstream, Error Protection Off

I've sent your account over to my colleagues to request Openreach to reset your line. It should be done on Monday.

Can you reset fibre lines now?
I must have been really bad in a previous life as this was my 3rd ISP in a row that used lithium.
Now you're stuck with me because my new ISP doesn't run a forum Cheesy

Ive been out all day and my cabinet is visible from my property, so I cant tell you if OR has been or not, is there any notes on my account?

Hi Glenn,

 

It looks like the e-mail we sent over to our suppliers didn't get picked up, because the trial process to remotely reset a fibre line ended on the 21st July. Sad We'll need to progress this the usual way by arranging an engineer visit.

Done, Its becoming a pain in my [-Censored-] now Anoush, no wonder why a number of users are moving away from BT owned internet!

My speed seems to be back to normal now from the speedtest I carried out just now, so Ive closed the ticket.
