Slow Fibre Speed

I received the following in an email:

When you signed up for Plusnet Broadband, we gave you an estimated line speed. Now that your broadband has now been active for 14 days, we thought we'd let you know the speed as it stands today, by way of comparison.

Estimated line speed 53.5Mbps to 70.5Mbps
Current line speed 37Mbps

Your current speed is lower than your original estimate, but don't worry. You should be able to improve things by following the tips in our broadband speed guide.

If that doesn't help, you may need to report a fault - please see our speed troubleshooting guide for help with this.

I have carried out the checks suggested in the guide and it's made no difference. Can you help please.

Re: Slow Fibre Speed

Is the router plugged into the master socket?

Are you using a VDSL Mastersocket such as NTEC5c?

Is router firmware up to date?

Some things to try Smiley

Re: Slow Fibre Speed

Hi thanks, yes the router is plugged in to the master socket and it's new so I assume it's up to date. I don't know what a VDSL master socket is though.

i think I'm going to have to ring and be prepared to wait for the 30mins or whatever..
