Slow Download speeds

Hi

Using wired connection. Ran both speedtest and line checker.

Download Speed (Mbps): 31.20

Upload Speed (Mbps) : 8.93

Ping Latency (ms): 31

Line checker says 60.2 mbps from local exchange.

Postcode:Phone exchange:HORBURY OSSETTEstimated line speed:67Mb (This may vary between 49Mb and 67Mb) - Checked on 2017-06-07 16:13:23Current line speed:60.2 Mb

Any help understanding why?

Thanks

Matt

Re: Slow Download speeds

Hi @mattarmstead,

I'm sorry to hear that you've been experiencing poor speeds. I've tested your line, however the test hasn't picked up the cause of this from here and indicates that your line is currently syncing at 64.1mbps.

As the test isn't picking up the cause, we'll need to do some troubleshooting to try and narrow things down.

I'd recommend starting with basic checks here If these checks don't resolve the problem, the next step would be to connect your router directly to the test socket, which is under the faceplate of your master socket and seeing if the speed improves. This rules out internal wiring, face plates and extension sockets as being the cause. Please see the following guide for instructions on how to connect to the test socket. https://community.plus.net/t5/Library/Testing-From-The-Master-Socket/ba-p/1322242 Please let us know if the speed issue persists once you're connected to the test socket.
