Hello,
I've received a letter from PlusNet which requests that I provide a MAC key. When I ask Sky they say I don't need one.
Here's there reply:
They also say pretty much the same thing here: http://help.sky.com/articles/get-a-mac-code-to-switch-from-sky-broadband
PlusNet haven't said that they _don't_ need a MAC key. Who's right?

Quote Thank you for contacting Sky Help Centre.
As your Sky Talk and Broadband Services are provided over the Sky Voice
and Broadband Network (SVBN) you do not require a MAC to cancel these
services or to switch to another provider.
There are 2 different ways with which you can cancel the talk and
broadband services:
1) If transferring the services to another provider, but are retaining
your existing telephone number, all you need to do is contact your
preferred new provider and place an order for those services with them.
They will then contact us on your behalf to arrange a switch of the talk
and broadband services. This allows a smooth, seamless switch from one
provider to another, and is known as a 3rd party cease request.
2) If you are transferring to a new provider who are providing you with
a new telephone line and new telephone number, or if you are leaving
your current property, or are simply no longer wanting talk and
broadband at your current address with any provider, then we require a
minimum of 14 days notice to cancel the talk and broadband services.

hey there gillardmoss
Sorry for any confusion in our contact with you regarding a MAC key, as you are on a LLU network we do not require a MAC to move your services to us.
I can also confirm that from the 20th we will no longer require a MAC to transfer services to us due to new Ofcom switching policys.
