Severe drop in speed

Today I go online and find my speed has dropped from nearly 50Mb down to just over 19.1 Mb is this just temporary or what because it's less than half the Guarantee I was told I would get. I have had this nearly 50 Mb since day 1 even the speedtest won't complete I got the 19.1Mb by going direct to the speedtest.net site as the test through the control panel gave an error, but it timed out with an error for the upload.Another test shows my speed at 0.4Mb and the upload timed out,AGAIN! But this 5th one went through http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/5627325604. There is obviously a fault somewhere because I am geting nowhere near even my minimum speed.

Re: Severe drop in speed

When I try to run the BT speed test the first part completes with lousy speeds.

The second part fails with:

null

The Performance Tester is currently unable to run a speed test for your broadband connection. Please try again shortly, however if this problem persists, raise the issue with your service provider.

Re: Severe drop in speed

Only restarted the router a couple of times but apart from that nothing. Reminds me of been back with BT and them saying nothing wrong with line only for me to tell engineer to chance line from pole
