Here's the settings I've used on an ASUS DSL-AC68U combined VDSL (FTTC) modem wireless router Which has allowed me to replace the BT OpenReach modem (A Huawei EchoLife HG612) and not have to get the "free" PlusNet wireless router for £5.99

Upstream Power Back Off should be enabled, otherwise you could cause problems for others on your cabinet who have longer lines than yours. It's one of the mandatory Openreach specified requirements, as is seamless rate adaptation.
