My plusnet connection was down for approximately 6 hours from 03:00hrs today.
Red block on ping test. Service restored after reboot of router at 09:00hrs.
Was this due to BT doing work in Southwark as announced or for some other reason?

It could be maintenance, although that's only normally a few minutes, could have been an exchange issue or a number of different things.
