My mum is planning on switching to plusnet but she already has BT infinity, Will she still need an engineer to visit even though she has the FTTC modem modem installed?

In a word No! . The transfer can be done without an engineer visit to the property

Plusnet have No self install install yet, so yes she will need a visit. It might not be needed but openretch will go through the motions anyway.

Sorry but that is not correct. If you are moving from BT Infinity you will already have had the engineer to install the new faceplate, so if you have the openreach modem an engineer visit will not be required. When i moved from BT infinity to Plusnet Fibre there was no engineer visit. If you do not have a modem then yes a visit will be required.

You'll likely still receive all the notifications from us about an engineers visit, however as there is already fibre active on the line there shouldn't be one actually attending.
