Samknows results

It has now been a month since I joined PN. MY Samknows box seems to have been working overtime!!

I don;t pretend to understand all the parameters, but some of them seem to be a bit "jumpy". Will compare over the last 12 months too.

Re: Samknows results

Although it may look jumpy, you have to look at the scales used.
All the results look good to me.

Coolio  Smiley
I'll post the 12 month results for comparison against the old ISP. Pretty much alike except for the upstream and better wireless speeds on the Technicolor router.

Re: Samknows results

OFCOM publish some of the raw data comparing all the ISPs each quarter if you want to compare.
They have me down as 80/20, but I'm on 100/15 so I'm boosting their download results a bit.

Re: Samknows results

I thought it would be interesting to compare the data of a BT product and a LLU supplier  Smiley Some of the measurements have gone up, some have gone down. Overall, as a "general user", I don't see a lot of difference (except PN is cheaper at the moment  Smiley )

Re: Samknows results

There shouldn't be much difference, irrespective of your ISP, because your biggest limitation is the physical capabilities of your line. However, there are performance differences that are highlighted in the reports between the ISPs. - http://media.ofcom.org.uk/news/2014/average-cable-broadband/

Re: Samknows results

Even when contrasting BT and LLU suppliers, it shouldn't vary itself too much I'd imagine.

Re: Samknows results

Depends whether BT Wholesale start to take serious ownership of capacity management issues and fulfill their commitment to never be the bottleneck or not I guess.
