Router has changed its username itself for the 2nd time! any ideas?

I have the latest plus router the standy up white one.
My  speed dropped off weeks ago to a very thready 5megs.  So I phoned plus and was told that my system was connecting as someone else.
I then checked my router and saw that the user name had changed itself to username@plusdsl.net
I was told this was impossible so I changed it back to my account name.
Just noticed that its just done the same thing again.  Back again to username.  I'm typing this as someone else 🙂
Any ideas as to why and is the router faulty?
Is this a new one?

Quite possibly your router was incorrectly codfied for TR069 prior to dispatch?  Ask PN to check the label on the base of your router against their TR069 Database entry and also check your Username against the Label.  I'd guess at a simple bit of confusion during dispatch?

I went on chat and was told that the agent thought that my serial number might be on another router.  He did some tidy up in the back end and hopes all should now be well.

Whenever this happens, it's likely to be TR69 as stated above.
We should have noticed this for you when you first mentioned it and sorted it. We should also see two RADIUS logs with different BBEU's (BT reference numbers) which would have identified the fault.

Hi poggs
Done some looking into this and might have worked out the issue with the TR069 login.
If you you find you loose the connection and login as someone else again let us know.

Just want to double check, this "other" user isn't tr069 is it? I know that has caused some confusion, so worth asking Wink
