Replacing Technicolor TG582n FTTC

Hi, Can I simply buy any router and plug it into the BT fibre modem replacing the Technicolor TG582n or must it be a special type?

I'd like something with more than 4 ports (only 3 currently as one used to connect to the modem) and I'd like gigabit speeds on the lan. It has to be able to do portforwarding so not an unmanaged switch and I don't want to end up with 3 boxes.

Fix

Hi @Panikos

While ever you're using the Fibre modem you can use any router.

Alternatively you can get yourself a FTTC modem/router and remove the BT modem from the equation completely.
