Repeated broadband drop outs.

I've had Plusnet for the last year and been absolutely satisfied with the service, until the last couple of months.  Broadband keeps dropping and resetting and the download speed seems to have dropped dramatically.  Why?  Please don't let me down now!

Re: Repeated broadband drop outs.

Welcome to the Forum @Stewart1887

Plusnet don't monitor the performance of lines so they don't yet know that you have a problem.  Your post may get picked up by Plusnet staff here but they are thin on the ground so it is probably safer to report this as a fault. That, at least, gets the problem into the queue for action.

You say that the broadband is dropping and the speed is lower. If you are seeing the lower connection speed using a wired connection then  I would be inclined to run through the troubleshooter at https://www.plus.net/help/broadband/connection-troubleshooting/ and then report a fault at https://www.plus.net/apps/kbdfaults

This involves doing a BT speed test. Make sure that you run the additional tests so that the results are stored on the BT server. If the speed changes during the day, run that test during a low speed episode rather than when the service is OK!

Let us know how you get on please.

Re: Repeated broadband drop outs.

Welcome to the community forums @Stewart1887

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing connection problems.

Our tests aren't finding the cause of the drops we're seeing.

Can you run through our troubleshooting guides here: http://goo.gl/5HXzWZ making sure your router is plugged into the test socket as explained here: https://community.plus.net/t5/Library/Testing-From-The-Master-Socket/ba-p/1322242

If you're still experiencing problems, please report a fault to us at https://goo.gl/ZMu71n

Re: Repeated broadband drop outs.

Thanks both,  connection speed and broadband disconnection seems to have resolved itself with no intervention.  Fingers crossed just a blip.

Thanks for your input.
