Regular interference ?

I'm using DSL stats to monitor the activity on my Netgear D7000

I've noticed something odd with the FEC Errors

As you can see the errors per minute seem to cycle every few minutes from 0 to 1000 on a pretty regular basis.

Any ideas what could be causing this ?
