Refund of cancelled broadband

After Plusnet cutting off the previous owners before the going live date, I cancelled my broadband order. I then had to call again as they hadn’t actioned the initial cancalelation although I did get an email. I now have 2 emails saying service is cancelled however no refund of my upfront payment. Any idea how to get this back? Each time I’ve called the phone line is been at least 30 minutes on hold!
