Random router reboot leading to loss of connection for 5+ minutes

So my plusnet supplied router just disconnected me from the internet, rebooted, then refused to reconnect for about 5 minutes stating authentication failure.
Anyone have any ideas what caused it? No password change, no power loss, no known service outage, no firmware update pushed out, nothing on my end to explain it.
Wont be able to respond quickly as I'm about to go to bed and will be working til 8am tomorrow, but I'd rather appreciate any input on the matter.

Re: Random router reboot leading to loss of connection for 5+ minutes

Mine did the same @ MethodOne.
So I looked at the event log on my Plusnet supplied Technicolour Router under :- Home > Technicolor Gateway > Event Logs and it gave the following:-

It looks like PlusNet / BT OpenReach remotely updated the router firewall in some way & then rebooted it from what I can see.
