Questions before upgrading to Fibre (from ADSL)

Hi, We've been looking to upgrade to Fibre from ordinary broadband & have 2 questions. 

As I see, we can do this purchase via the member centre but after doing so, 1) what are the next steps? 

2) How much downtime can we expect from upgrade date to completed setup?

Fix

It was quite easy when I did it.

Just log into your account and request fibre.

PlusNet will send you a new VDSL router (Hub One) - I believe the delivery charge is £7.99? So make sure your account has your up to date card details and they'll take it off that.

I think we're under a 18 month contract but now it is 12.

You'll get an activation date. Just replace your current router with the new one, I believe it will still work with ADSL. The instructions just say leave it on for a few minutes and it auto configures itself.

I think the only downtime we had lasted for 10-15 minutes. The landline went down too but was up again. I walked past the fibre cabinet I think we would be connected to. Saw it was open with BT Openreach staff there too, and I thought "Oooh are they doing our line?" Smiley

But if all goes well pretty painless.

Perfect thanks, ordered it now & hopefully we're on fibre optic soon!

Delivery charge was £6.99 & prompted for card details straight after choosing the product.

 

Also another question, where did you get mentioned your activation date?

@Denisi007 a warm welcome to the forum.

You should get an email/text in the coming days from PN  once the date has been confirmed by their supplier.

Alternatively given PN  a call in a couple of days and speak to provision, who should be able to confirm the date. 

 

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

I am sure I got it in an e-mail. So you may get one today what with the weekend over.

Hopefully a member of staff can confirm on here.

EDIT: @ITWorks is right, I think it may have been a text.
