Put in my own router with VDSL2 (Juniper SRX110H2-VA)

After a bit of messing about and learning how junos works, I managed to get a connection, and it appears to be pretty decent.  However I wondered if someone in the know can take a peek at the stats and make sure they look sane.   Not sure what my MTU and MSS should be (for example), and there may be other less than optimum settings.   Will the swap cause my line to retrain?   Thanks.

Re: Put in my own router with VDSL2 (Juniper SRX110H2-VA)

The MTU may be a bit high at 1518. I've got it in my head that to avoid fragmentation it shouldn't be set higher than 1492.

Re: Put in my own router with VDSL2 (Juniper SRX110H2-VA)

Hi, I get really confused by MTU and MSS, as it seems to vary by broadband product.   Can someone from Plusnet confirm the correct MTU and MSS settings for Plusnet VDSL2 Fibre to the cabinet.   Thanks.

Re: Put in my own router with VDSL2 (Juniper SRX110H2-VA)

Hi @Mark_g1, as @Baldrick1 advises we usually say 1492 would be the best MTU setting. I'm afraid we don't advise on what MSS to use however I've found an older thread which may help here:
