Profile?

I think Plusnet's systems are out of sync with BT as my profile in my account shows 80Mbit/s but for some reason my line has dropped to 72Mbit/s sync 70Mbit/s IP profile. (G.inp?)
Also I think my load-balancing router broke BT wholesale's speed-test, probably used the Cable for the download test and the VDSL for the upload  Grin

Re: Profile?

Hi,
Just looking at the speed test provided some of the figures seem incorrect. Could you please run this again for me so I can look into this for you?

KatC, Ignore the download speed figure, I have a Load-Balancing router connected to both a Plusnet FTTC line and a Virgin Media cable line, it looks like the router used the Virgin connection for the download test.
My Modem sync has dropped to 72Mbit/s for some reason, it's sadly within BT's acceptable limits so I can't raise a fault for it but it would be nice to know why, do the systems you have access to show if G.INP has been enabled on the line?
Edit:  Also ignore the DSL uptime, that's because I rebooted the modem to see if the sync would increase, I have been playing with different routers lately so there will be a lot of PPP drops, but I haven't been powering down the modem when swapping routers so it shouldn't have triggered DLM.

Re: Profile?

I can’t see any reason why you’ve had a drop I’m afraid, or if G.INP is active on the line.
All profiling issues need engineers I’m afraid, which in turn we’d need a fault report to be raised.

Re: Profile?

I've swapped my HG612 with my other unit as I don't think my unlocked one has the right firmware for G.INP
Hopefully since the one that's on there now is the unmodified one it will update itself as needed and the speed will return to normal.
I'll also see if I can get the unlocked one updated.

Re: Profile?

Just managed to re-flash the unlocked HG612, Seems it was the packet filtering driver for the firewall (Eset)  that was stopping me accessing the bootloader, disabling the firewall wasn't enough had to switch off the NDIS driver in the Network Device properties.
Showing 79.99Mbit/s in the unlocked modem gui, just need to wait for my IP profile to catch up.
Also I don't think the locked modem had upgraded itself when it was on the line  Sad
