Profile does not match line sync

Hi,

Currently, https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=stable_rate shows my profile as 68.8Mb. My router is showing my connection as syncing at 75Mb/15Mb.

Could someone please look at this and give my Plusnet profile a bump?

Speedtest.net is currently showing a speed of 66Mb while historically it has always been around the 71/72Mb mark.

Surely my current line speed shown in the member centre should be the same as or close to my actual sync speed? I'd expect a sync of 75Mb to equate to somewhere around 69-71Mb throughput.

Re: Profile does not match line sync

What does the BT speedtester further diagnostics give for the IP Profile?

On FTTC, the IP profile is usually about 96.8% of the line rate, but on a "Retransmission High" profile, it's a lower percentage, about 91% or 92%.

Re: Profile does not match line sync

Damn, knew there was something I forget to check.

BT Speedtest shows acceptable range of 40-68.98 and shows IP Profile as 68.98Mb - which matches what the member centre shows 68.8Mb. So it seems it's the BT profile that is limiting my connection and causing a 6-7Mb drop between sync and actual speed.

Re: Profile does not match line sync

I think the 68.98Mb profile is correct, it's probably making allowances for the expected loss of throughput from retransmissions on the "Retransmission High" profile.

Re: Profile does not match line sync

I used to be Retransmission Low

This is from February this year

"0.128M-80M Downstream, Retransmission Low - 0.128M-20M Upstream, Error Protection Off"

I know it's a long time back but this was from the last time I used Speedtest.net

As you can see my line speed has nearly always been 68-71Mb though it did drop to 62Mb for a couple of weeks in February.

Fix

I've just updated your profile and dropped your session so you should be able to get higher speeds.
