Problems with Upload Speed

Hi There

I’m having problems uploading audio to a streaming internet radio station I’m djing on. I’ve run speedtest and have about 1.5mbps (not constant) upload speed, however even with 64k AAC speed selected on my streaming program (I know the bandwidth on this setting and my speed test are unrelated), the audio sounds poor and as if it’s being throttled somewhere.

Can you please tell me if upload is throttled on my package? If so, can this be removed or a higher limit set by moving to the next package up (if there is one)?

Hi , yes depends which product you bought its either 40/2 ,, yes 2 upload   or the 80/20  which depends on what your line will support

Thank you for this. This says 2mbps maximum up and 21 maximum down. I have just switched from 40/2 to 80/20. I am getting slightly more than 21 down (25 according to speed test) so hopefully there is some scope for improvement in the upload.

mmmmm 21/2 dont seam right ?  as if they let you change from 40/2 to 80/20 your line must be able to support better speeds

they dont normaly put you on the 80/20 if you cant support it ?

Since the change to 80/20 early this morning I’m now getting 20mbps down (down from 25mbps) according to speed test and slightly more than 1.5 up. On first glances it has reduced my download speed and not really affected my up. Hopefully in the coming days this adjusts

Hi Chris,

As you're on Unlimited Fibre Extra [80/20], there's no throttling.

I think it's just down to the expectations for your line as your downstream estimates are between 15mbps to 21mbps, and upstream estimates between 0.8mbps to 2mbps, so it's unlikely things will improve.

As you're within the 14 day cooling off period, I'd be happy to revert your account/service back to how it was?
