Did a "return to factory settings" on my router and it solved the issue.
Don't ask me why it worked, I haven't changed any settings recently, and unplugging it didn't work!
2 of the websites that I couldn't ping before, now work, so something weird was going on.
C:\Users\user>ping www.google.com Pinging www.google.com [212.56.71.20] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 212.56.71.20: bytes=32 time=18ms TTL=60 Reply from 212.56.71.20: bytes=32 time=16ms TTL=60 Reply from 212.56.71.20: bytes=32 time=16ms TTL=60 Reply from 212.56.71.20: bytes=32 time=18ms TTL=60 Ping statistics for 212.56.71.20: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 16ms, Maximum = 18ms, Average = 17ms C:\Users\user>ping www.thisismoney.co.uk Pinging a113.g.akamai.net [212.56.73.34] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 212.56.73.34: bytes=32 time=20ms TTL=60 Reply from 212.56.73.34: bytes=32 time=17ms TTL=60 Reply from 212.56.73.34: bytes=32 time=19ms TTL=60 Reply from 212.56.73.34: bytes=32 time=15ms TTL=60 Ping statistics for 212.56.73.34: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 15ms, Maximum = 20ms, Average = 17ms

Which router do you have? I'm using the Plusnet Hub One, which seems hard wired for Plusnet DNS only 😕
Other routers are available

Glad you've fixed the problem.

Some web sites works, some are slow, other don't work at all, yet the router is reporting 20down/19up which is the speed it's always been.
With that upstream speed I would have expected a faster downstream. Is it still around that speed after the fix?

Faster than 19Mb/s? I don't think that's possible even on a full 20Mb/s upstream sync. My downstream is 65Mb/s and I've never seen better than 18.7Mb/s on the upstream. I'm surprised that poster gets 19Mb/s up when they only have 20Mb/s down.
