Had problems all day logging onto websites (if I keep hitting refresh I sometimes get through) and cannot log into Playstation Network (Last time they were taken down it was a poison DNS attack).
Managed to check my connection speed with SpeedTest.net and that was fine.
Do you have a poisoned DNS?
Can't seem to find an option to change my routers' DNS to 8.8.8.8 (Google) so looks like I'm stuck with yours. 😕
Fixed! Go to the fix.

Very unlikely. Quite a bizarre suggestion, really. Were such a thing to actually happen it would be impacting hundreds of thousands of Plusnet customers and this forum would have collapsed under the strain. Instead it seems like a fairly quiet night with most customers happily doing what they want to do, Whatever your problem it would appear to be very localised to you.

I'm sure you can always change the DNS on the PlayStation to one of your own.

Just tried to read
https://leaprate.com/2016/04/exness-updates-on-system-status-amid-ddos-attacks/
and got...
The connection has timed out
The server at leaprate.com is taking too long to respond.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I've tried changing the DNS on our devices to 8.8.8.8 but it had the same result.
It's everything in the house laptops, phones, consoles.
Which makes me think it's the router, tried rebooting it, but no difference.
If nobody else is having issues maybe the router is dying?

The web sites at www.rightmove.co.uk and www.thisismoney.co.uk are both fine from what I can see. I'm not sure about Akamai but they are a major player in the streaming and content world so it seems unlikely there is a problem otherwise there'd be a huge fuss about it across the web. So again it seems something fairly local to those experiencing issues.
What exchange(s) are those having difficulty connected to?
It's worth noting that responding to pings is optional and many sites don't bother. Those that do often treat it as a very low priority task and may not bother if they are busy. I believe that routers also sometimes drop ICMP packets if they are busy. Still - it's rare to see google or the BBC not responding so something odd seems to be affecting some people.

Been having the same all day. Just tried to do the fault checker and it times out so started ping and tracert tests on a few addresses, google and BBC being two, and get massive delays or request timed out on all of them.
Moving from Google DNS to OpenDNS servers seems to have fixed the issue.

Just tried the Open DNS settings, on the PS4, but it did not work for me.
Which router do you have? I'm using the Plusnet Hub One, which seems hard wired for Plusnet DNS only 😕

I did this on my PC by manually changing the settings in my network connection. The One Hub doesn't let you do this AFAIK, had a good look round mine and can't see anything to do this.
My speeds are still wonky mind but that's a story for another day!

PlayStation says all their services are up and running, and the Wifi strength on this console is 86-92%, tried manually entering google and Open DNS servers.
So can't understand why I can't connect, was working fine yesterday, everything on default.

Looks like you're on a wireless connection, try a different channel (1 , 6 or 11) or you could try wired.

Thanks NPR, we've got 3 PS4s, 2 PS3s, 2 XBox Ones, 2 XBox 360's, some wired, some wifi, all effected.
Internet on laptops and phones is hit and miss too. Some web sites works, some are slow, other don't work at all, yet the router is reporting 20down/19up which is the speed it's always been.
It all seemed to start when the router was assigned a new IP address this morning about 10am.
