Pro Add On, Good Idea?

What Do You Think?

I seen the add-on and have read many posts and replies regarding this matter however it never answered what I came here to find out.

The 'Pro Add-On,' which claims to prioritise specific activities, many do NOT recommend purchasing the add-on and have claimed this feature is not as good as it used to be.

Here is my questions:

  1. Would this feature work no matter what modem/router is in use (I have my own)?
  2. Do you recommend it?
  3. Why do you (not) recommend it?

Please go into the 'techie' specifications, that would be great.

Many thanks!

Re: Pro Add On, Good Idea?

The PRO add on is mainly for ADSL connections , and should have no effect on FTTC connections Thumbs_Up

Re: Pro Add On, Good Idea?

Fix

1. Yes.

2. No.

3. People don't understand what it will do, and expect that it is some sort of general Internet booster which will make their connection better. It's not and it won't. All it does is change the priorities of some activities relative to others - see the traffic prioritisation guide.

@rongtw

It's not specific to ADSL or "Fibre", but the less bandwidth you have, the more likely it is that you'll want things prioritised when trying to do more than one thing at the same time.
