My 2.4 and 5ghz networks are separate SSID too.
I did 15+ speed tests on wifi earlier today on all WiFi Chanel choices with varying results from 15-20mbps.
But every check on 5ghz returned 35mbps.
Now everything, 2.4, 5 or wired returns 1mbps...

Good morning @Ridethesplit
Thanks a lot for reaching out. Tests on your line this morning have shown that the download sync speed is at the lower end of your speed estimates, however they do appear to be within range. My tests are showing a download sync speed of around 35Mbps. If you're able to run a wired speed test at all, it'll give us a better understanding o what's coming down the line. I'll pop my KBD results onto this post so you can have a look yourself.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by demand on the router? If you're referring to the speeds that your router is receiving, you'd be able to check this out by having a look at the Data Rate.
To do this, log into your Plusnet Hub One manager, navigate to Troubleshooting, and then click on HelpDesk.

I ran a series of tests last night and again my speed on both 2.4ghz and 5ghz (WiFi) dropped to 1mbps.
I have tested again this morning and it is back up to 35.
Is there a way I can see what 'was' connected, and how much data was being used by each device?

Thanks for your response @Ridethesplit

@Ridethesplit If you are using the Plusnet Hub1 modem/router that will not give you any information about the load on the router and the amount of data being used by each device. It is a very basic router, you would need much more expensive equipment to give you the info you want.
@adam945 Have you noticed that the line is banded at 35Mbps? If this was removed it could improve the download speed.

Thanks @Ridethesplit
Are you able to run a wired speed test at all? @RealAleMadrid is right, in that the line does appear to be banded, however the highest speed your line can achieve is 48Mbps, you've been reporting speeds of 1Mbps, so for now at least, the banding issue is secondary.
Customers often report speeds of 1Mbps when the router isn't authenticated, have you been noting the Broadband username when such speeds are being seen?

32.4 down
8.8 up.
When you mean noting the broadband username, what do you mean by this?
Also, when the download speed drops to 1, the upload speed remains at 8 or 9. Absolutely no loss at all.

thanks for your response @Ridethesplit
So you need to be logged into the Plusnet hub One for the services to work. when logging onto your Plusnet Hub One, the broadband username should be shown as accountusername@plusdsl.net, if it's setup@plusdsl.net, speed tests will likely report download speeds of 1Mbps or less.
The speeds you've reported there are more like it, however they are at the low end of your estimates, as I said, the line should be able to achieve speeds of up to 48Mbps. I've now raised a request to have the line reset on our suppliers side, as they currently appear to be capping the line at 35Mbps. as we're approaching a weekend though, this might not get picked up and sorted until later on next week.

I will leave a laptop wired to the router so I can check the broadband username when the speed drops later.
I have just finished naming all of the devices that connect to the router to ensure I don't have a rogue user...

I'll stay wired anyway.
I will do a test with WiFi switched off and all Lan ports empty other than the laptop.

Using RouterStats it is possible to monitor your VDSL connection see here for details, this will also work from a Wifi device.
The link will explain all. Noise Margin tab is important as it shows how stable the line is in real time.
