I can confirm that Plusnet are indeed having a network problem for some of their customers, I was 1 of them. My fibre went down about an hour ago. I waited for support for about 20 minutes & they have now reset my connection & all is OK.

ADSL here but same as OP.
At around 13:30 I lost internet access via my Plusnet connection...I had full access via my mobile.
After around 15 minutes (including a cup of tea) I dropped and remade the PPP session after which my access was restored.
The dropping of the PPP session and restoration of internet access could have been a lucky coincidence.

My fibre connection went. I suspected the demise of the Plusnet hamster ..probably retired to a life of off grid spoon whittling.

I seem to have lost connection around 1300 and couldn't get to my mail server a couple of minutes ago. Seems to be back now though.
For what it's worth I've not bounced the connection - it's 'recovering' all by itself so far.

Very erratic connection this afternoon, on off on off, gave up with the online gaming on ps4 this afternoon, hope they fix it soon.

A more customer centred approach
Suggestion - Instead of saying we will update you "shortly" or "when we have an update" why not commit to provide an update every 30mins/hr as a minimum even if it is to say you are still working on the problem. Alternatively when providing an update state when the next update can be expected. Manages expectations.

Just spoke with Plusnet @1820 and there is still a problem. The update @16.48 stating the problem as fixed is incorrect. I was told next update in circa 2hrs.
