Thank you very much.  Everything seems to be working at the moment but I will keep an eye on it over the weekend.

What do I need to do?

No problem Smiley and nothing now that the 'fix' has been sent to your router.

As long as you don't reset the router, hopefully this particular drop should stop.

Once PN have sent it to the Hub One officially as a firmware update, resetting would be fine Wink

@geffers

I think those log messages indicates that the VDSL2 connection is dropping, not just the PPP, so yours is a different issue to what's being discussed in this thread.

Re: Plusnet fibre broadband does not cope with uploads and will disconnect you...

Thanks @ejs - large file uploads have been an issue previously, I think @bobpullen applied a fix to my router so this may be related or completely different.

Re: Plusnet fibre broadband does not cope with uploads and will disconnect you...

Hi

Could you (bobpullen/DS) apply the fix to my router (mu user name is [Removed]).

  • Make/model of router  Plusnet Hub One
  • Firmware/software version (for Hub Ones you can get this by looking at the footer of the router admin pages)Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.226
  • What product/speed you have, e.g. Unlimited Fibre 40/2, Unlimited Fibre Extra 80/20 etc. Unlimited Fibre 40/2
  • Gateway you're connected to  gateway psb-ir01.
  • Device being used to upload from e.g. Android Smartphone, Windows 10 machine, Macbook OSX etc. MacBook OSX, iMac OSX, iPhone 5, Vodefone SureSignal
  • What it is you're uploading/what service you're using e.g. iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive  iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive
  • When the problem first started  several months ago
  • If you have access to a different router, whether or not the problem affects that too, or if it's just specific to the Hub One No other router available.

I've raised this which PN CS who referred me to this forum (Question 143102548). I've also had the relevant error messages in the router hub .. see below.

13:00:58, 10 Feb. (744230.250000) PPPoE is down after 7 minutes uptime [Disconnected]
13:00:56, 10 Feb. (744228.040000) PPP LCP Send Termination Request [PPPoE PADT received]

12:53:17, 10 Feb. (743768.970000) PPPoE is down after 5 minutes uptime [Disconnected]
12:53:14, 10 Feb. (743766.750000) PPP LCP Send Termination Request [PPPoE PADT received]

Hope you can help!

Re: Plusnet fibre broadband does not cope with uploads and will disconnect you...

@littonwill, I wished I could, but I'm just a customer too!!

Hopefully bobpullens will sort this out for you.

As I've mentioned in a previous post, once you have it don't be tempted to reset the hub or you'll lose the fix. After it has been rolled out as a firmware update, then resetting will be fine.

Re: Plusnet fibre broadband does not cope with uploads and will disconnect you...

Hi Bob,

I have been suffering from the same issue of continues signal breakdown on daily basis for over 2 months with no fix, particularly during evening periods. The technical team has advised me yesterday - 12/02/17 to add my comments here in order for yourself to provide a fix.

Kindly apply the patch but should u need more info on the router, plz let me know so i can specfically provide that.

Thanks

Harjit

Re: Plusnet fibre broadband does not cope with uploads and will disconnect you...

After weeks of being fobbed off on the phone, I've finally been referred here regarding problems with my internet connection. The connection drops pretty much every time I try to upload files. It's been driving me crazy and affecting my job. I hear rumours there might be a fix available?

@dp1 & @littonwill, I've applied the change to your devices.

@Harjit797, you'll need to drop me a private message to let me know what your account username is because I'm struggling to locate your account.

Re: Plusnet fibre broadband does not cope with uploads and will disconnect you...

Hi, I think I've got the same problem. Been using One drive with no problems but swapped to Google drive and refuses to sync. I get an orange light on the router every few minutes. This only seems to be when Google drive is running.
