Plusnet Router upgrade

I am interested in upgrading my Plusnet router with something more powerful with a better wireless range and more features. Firstly, can you get non Plusnet routers working ok? and secondly, does anyone have any recommendations what might be worth looking at?

Yes you can use your own non Plusnet device. Plusnet provide the necessary settings that are required (there are very few) at https://www.plus.net/help/broadband/broadband-connection-settings/

Also a lot of forum regulars buy a BT Smart Hub (homehub6) for £30 at a well known auction site.
