Plusnet Hub One - all my devices are running at 2.4 GHz??

all my devices in my family from iphones to PS4 they are all running at 2.4GHz and are really slow and keep on freezing on websites etc.

I've spoken to apple and they've said your routers firmware probably needs updating? please can you advise how I do this the latest  firmware I have is below:

Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.237.2.2 Last updated Unknown

This is very frustrating as have had some problems with it and have had to reset the Plusnet Hub One on many occasions.

Please can this be looked at asap.

Kind Regards

Rob

It requires some effort on your part.

What signal strength do you get on your wifi?

Is your router located anywhere near your devices?

Have you tried a wired connection on any devices?

What kind of download speed does your router get anyway.

Check these things - ASAP.

Was that speedtest done over wifi or ethernet cable?

Re: Plusnet Hub One - all my devices are running at 2.4 GHz??

Configure your router to have separate SSID's for the 2.4 & 5GHz.

You can then configure your devices to connect to the SSID that gives the most reliable/highest speed.

Fix

As per @VileReynard advice see here: https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/2-4ghz-and-or-5ghz-best-practice/m-p/1543424#M6581  . Then go into your device available wireless network settings and try each channel. Use the one that gives the best performance.

You must have read my mind I just did this and Called one 5.0 so hopefully now if I just connect to that it’ll do the job.

Should that be the case?

Re: Plusnet Hub One - all my devices are running at 2.4 GHz??

That's what worked for me a while back. 5GHz may not have the range but the speed is great. I also specified a channel rather than leave it on automatic. WiFi from the neighbours was causing a bit of interference. I made my devices forget the 2GHz or they would try to connect to it sometimes.
