Plusnet Fibre Extra Speed Less Than Expected

Hi all,

 

My connection seems to have slowed. Initially I was at 70ish but now I'm down to 56.4.

Here is what it says I should be getting.

Phone exchange:FILTON

Estimated line speed:80Mb (This may vary between 63.5Mb and 80Mb) -

Checked on 2017-10-05 15:47:04

Current line speed:56.4 Mb

 

What can be done to get me back up to speed?

Hi there, 

 

Diagnostics aren't showing any issues and as the speeds you've mentioned are just above the minimum guaranteed access line speeds we'd not be able to look at this from a faults perspective but lets see if there's anything we can do. 

 

Are you connecting over WiFi when you've observed the drop in speeds?

I'm connected by wire currently.

 

My router reads this if its any help.

I might be completely wrong about all this but in my head it would appear that my line is capable of the max rates.

Is it not possible to get my speed back closer to 80 like it was initially?

 

Or should it not be at least between 63.5Mb and 80Mb?

Should I be concerned by the error rate my router reports? might that be effecting speed?

It looks like your router is now in sync below your estimates.

Upstream Speed 20.0 Mbps

I'd recommend running through the troubleshooting here and raising a fault to us here if the checks don't help as it's likely we'll need to arrange an engineer visit to further investigate.

I'm not entirely sure what those errors indicate but testing your line is showing no errors:
