Re: Plusnet Fiber Extra (Please help with bad speed/reliability)

Disconnected and reconnected and same problem persist.

You are currently connected to gateway pcl-bng02.

This is located in City Lifeline House.

This fiber is proving to be such a pain!

Re: Plusnet Fiber Extra (Please help with bad speed/reliability)

It feels like all day my speed has been throttled to under 30 Mbits.

Now on this one, gateway hopping not helping.

You are currently connected to gateway pcl-ag05.

This is located in City Lifeline House.

Re: Plusnet Fiber Extra (Please help with bad speed/reliability)

Also my noise margin is 15.9 / 11.5. I checked my friends router and his is 6.2/5.8, if that makes a difference.

I contacted support again and we have to wait for the issue to be escalated.

Re: Plusnet Fiber Extra (Please help with bad speed/reliability)

The noise margin should be around 6db I'm led to believe.

It is possible there is a fault on the line.  Can you raise a fault at faults.plus.net ?

Hope this helps Thumbs_Up

Yes, just spoke to a gentleman from PlusNet. Openreach saying there is a configuration issue on the line and it should be resolved within 48 hours....

Here to more waiting.

Re: Plusnet Fiber Extra (Please help with bad speed/reliability)

I believe it's 6db down and 15db up? Unless my stats are completely wrong.

As NE mentioned, open a fault if you haven't done so already and hopefully it gets resolved pretty quick

Re: Plusnet Fiber Extra (Please help with bad speed/reliability)

My noise margin is 5.9/7.3 db.

I've been told I'm syncing at the best possible speed Kiss

Syncing at 55-57mb

Re: Plusnet Fiber Extra (Please help with bad speed/reliability)

Hello just an update on the terrible scenario so far.

Openreach came to the cabinet today and knocked on our door to check the connection locally. According to the BT Openreach gentleman we are getting stable 80Mbits speed on the main socket in the home (which the Plusnet hub one is connected to). The gentleman said we are achieving these speeds on 87% of the line capacity and if unlocked the line could easily achieve 90Mbits, Thankfully confirming what I thought because of distance from cabinet and the fact the fiber and copper is all new.

So we are still getting speeds of 20-24 and tonight we got 40 from the Hub one at one point. Plusnet were meant to update us today but no-one contacted us.

Plusnet, it all checked out with openreach.... is the hub one rubbish? Do we just need to buy our own modem/router?

Re: Plusnet Fiber Extra (Please help with bad speed/reliability)

I'm on the hub one, over wireless (5ghz) I can happily hit 72Mbps on speed tests using my mobile. Sometimes my phones switches to 2ghz and I can only achieve around 45-50Mbps

So it's unlikely a poor router problem. These speeds over wired or wifi?
