Plusnet Fiber Drop 38Mbps to 12mbps

Hi there

We have had this problem for at least 6 months and now getting cross.

Our broadband keeps cutting off and speeds drop from 36mbps to 12mbps.

We had a BT Technician the third time put a brand new open reach socket in checked our area substation and all OK.

Checked all settings on Broadband refreshed the settings and reset.

Not sure what else is causing it Modem is away from electric interference.

I have attached some pictures.

Thanks

Re: Plusnet Fiber Drop 38Mbps to 12mbps

Have you considered going through any fault diagnosis, or reporting a fault?

Have you done a quiet line test? Dial 17070 option 2 from a corded phone.

You won't be able to terminate your contract if you have not even given them a chance to rectify a faukt.

Are you testing on wired or wireless connection?

What does the DSL checker say for your line.

Re: Plusnet Fiber Drop 38Mbps to 12mbps

And the answer to my questions?

You should be getting great speeds, but now and then faults can occur, water, dodgt connections, and other problems can happen, but the basic line tests can help work out what the issue is.

Re: Plusnet Fiber Drop 38Mbps to 12mbps

The DSL checker results confirm the speed that PlusNet suggested you should be able to get. It is clear there is a fault somewhere if you are below this so you need to run basic checks and then raise a fault with PlusNet.

I don't have the links to hand but you need to run a "quite line" test on the phone line and then run broadband checks. These should always be done over a wired connection and make use of the test socket behind the Master socket face plate, They include running speed checks using the BT Wholesale speed test as these "log" the results on the OpenReach system.

Re: Plusnet Fiber Drop 38Mbps to 12mbps

Your line is dropping out a lot.

I've checked your account and can see you that we replied to the only previous fault and unfortunately didn't receive any response, so this closed off. We would need a new fault reporting as your line is not performing anywhere near where we'd expect. If you can report this at https://faults.plus.net and let us know when you've done so we'll ensure this is picked up asap.

Re: Plusnet Fiber Drop 38Mbps to 12mbps

Hi

Many thanks the reason we did not want to pursue this as we are on disabled money and we cant afford the £65 pounds call out fee if there was nothing wrong.

Again many thanks we will give Plusnet a call and see were we go with this

PS All those phone checks corrections have been done all ready!!!
