Please remove my user name from old static ip domain name

Please can PN technical please remove my username from a static ip that was assigned during problem solving last year?

I only just discovered today that the static IP was still assigned, but worse, my username was used in the domain name that comes up on a reverse dns lookup !!!

I phoned and requested removal of my name from the ip and removal of the static earlier today and was told it was done. However, even though I rebooted the router and now have a dynamic ip - BUT my user name remains attached to the old static Ip, so the work is not complete! Please can this be removed asap.

Have you done a disconnect/connect since they said it was done?

Yes, rebooted router twice. As I say, dynamic ip now allocated but if I reverse lookup the old static ip my name is associated as the domain name.

I had thought the reverse IP lookup showing names was fixed?

  just checked mine and it shows my name

Now resolved - someone else's name is now against the IP! 👍
