Please help - broadband down since 1am

Good morning
I'm switching to plusnet today (between 8am and 1pm - no engineer needed), however my broadband has been down since 1am.
I received an email from BT saying my broadband/telephone service had ended and I've received my telephone activation email from plusnet, but nothing about broadband.
Does someone just need to click a button at their end to switch it on? (New router and modem set-up and configured properly).
I thought the switchover was supposed to be relatively seamless - i.e. no loss of service for 7 hours+.
