Please explain speeds for newbie instalation

Hi, my old adsl was about 2.2. An engineer called called today (appointment was for tomorrow 24th march). I was working, my father just happened to be here. Fiber is up and working though I have no phone connection downstairs anymore( engineer told my father I would need a digital phone!) Anyway my speed is still about 2.2, and up around 14. What should happen in the next few days normally? btw engineer apparently reported 55 speed to my dad.

Re: Please explain speeds for newbie instalation

A quirk of Plusnet's systems is that the speed profile of your line doesn't seem automatically update when you move from ADSL to FTTC.  Hopefully a staff member will pick this up tomorrow and give your profile a kick.  Even more hopefully, they'll get round to deploying better systems that don't have all these anomalies features!
The lack of a downstairs phone sounds like the installer didn't reconnect your extension wiring...  Report this as a separate fault.
