Ping spikes

I've just retested the line and it's picked up a few errors which could account for some ping spikes.
Do they happen at a certain time?

No particular time , just  most of the day

If it's errors causing this it's going to be hard to track down and resolve,
Is there any sort of electrical equipment around the modem or router that could cause interference?

No sorry they both on wall next to phone socket ,  Had to make a special bracket for the PN one

Very bizarre.
I've checked for capacity issues and there aren't any in your area.
Can you try and reset your router? There was a slight MTU issue in the past and I'm not sure if this could be a cause.

Mathew , i reset Router & Modem yesterday  
Now on ptw-ag04. and getting horrendous buffering  on any catch up TV

And this is over a wired connection?
Can you try a reset again as I only pushed the changes earlier this morning.

I think you should follow up on the original claim by Andy, I run PingPlotter on my connection a number of times when I've suspected something to be up and I've never seen a ping to my own router go above 1ms at any time. 99% of the time the ping is consistent at <1ms, no matter the load on the WAN side of things.
Personally I'd replace cables and think about swapping out the default ECI and Plusnet router combination and go for an AIO solution like a Billion or Zyxel, though that's the more pricey approach it could also be helpful to get a router that will show you stats like errors so you can check if they're bursting at certain times which would be the possible cause of any ping spikes

Now i got this TBB result
