Ping all over the place

I've just switched to plusnet from BT Infinity 2, my speed and everything is fine and my ping is low at times however it fluctuates a lot.
Pinging bbc.co.uk 5 times I see varations from 17ms to 70ms and playing CSGO my ping also fluctuates by about 30ms.
Any ideas?

Are you using a wired or wireless connection?
I've just tested your line and it's detecting a potential issue in the local network, can you run through the troubleshooter here so we can do some more testing? https://faults.plus.net

The troubleshooter wasn't very relevant to my issue but I've went through it anyway.
By a potential issue in the local network what do you mean?

Probably referring to the 'last mile' from the exchange to your premises.

I've suspected for a while now that there's been an issue with my line.
I get a lot of errors on the line no matter what device I use, what cables I use or even a new faceplate. An engineer came out last year when I complained at BT for a similar issue and couldn't find anything wrong...

As in FEC errors?
Have you tried doing the Quiet Line Test? Call 17070 option 2 and check for any noise on the line. It should be completely silent.

Line is perfectly quiet.
I've checked the stats on my HG612 and for 9 days uptime I have very low error count, not sure those are FEC errors though, think it was CRC.

Engineer came out and said the line was perfect.
A friend on sky fibre gets consistent low 20ms pings on CSGO whereas mine can sometimes be 30ms higher.
I tried changing the gateway I was connected to and it helped for a bit before my pings climbed back to the usual level again...

Something is majorly wrong, I'm now getting rubberbanding effect in games where character will stutter forwards and backwards.

Our testing isn't showing any issues although you are maxing out your upload on a regular basis.
Have you made sure there's nothing running in the background when your carrying out a speedtest?

The only time I max out my upload is when uploading files for work.
Nothing was uploading when I ran that pingtest yesterday, nothing that I'm aware of anyway.
Still getting the same results today.

As you can see my TBB chart is a joke, gaming is a laggy mess.
