Packetloss problems over the last week - Unusable

Hello all,

 

Sadly my first post isn't a happy one!

 

Over the last week, I've been having packetloss problems.

 

Looking around the forums here, It seems I'm not the only one - and could be down to a change at plusnet? (not sure on this!). Nothing has changed on my end / line stats / sync speeds etc.

 

Currently seeing as I type this about 2% on the downstream and 14% on the upstream packetloss, constant.

 

I've not been running this monitor for long (I have a SamKnows whitebox which is showing awful packetloss aswell - but that's not as easy to share) - snapshot of a graph:

What is going on? 

 

Trying to open a fault currently, as its literally unusable at these levels....

Aye, it's probably not known by the front-end staff. It's really frustrating!

Well, we can hope then!

 

I'll try and speak to them tomorrow to "prod it along" (not that they'll know in all likely-hood).

 

Atleast I now know its not my line (initial thought it was!) - so, that's a good thing  I guess!

Haha. Well I've spoken to them.

 

Guy wasn't aware of any issues, BUT - to plusnets favour their support team always seems to listen and he agreed there looks to be a problem. He tested my line anyway - no issues there (and no surprises).

 

 

He's raised it the NOC team, and commented it looks to be an issue with the "new network" (again, seen that mentioned here too!) 

 

Fingers crossed for a fix soon I guess...

at least they admit to having a problem "commented it looks to be an issue with the "new network"

Extremely bad again tonight. Speaking to plusnet again! not acceptable for this length of time.

We are aware of the issue and that is is happening normally around 6pm onward the networks team are looking into resolving the issue but we don't have an exact time currently I'm sorry about this.

 

And

 

we don't have anything currently for the networks team regarding what is the cause of yet I'm sorry that this is affecting you but we do understand the amount of people having this issue and that it needs resolving as soon as possible. I'm sure once the issue is resolving we can look into a goodwill for the inconvenience of this.

I'm now seeing 60% packet loss ! And I thought it couldn't get any worse...

I dared to think the planned maintenance would help. Nope. Web pages won't load now. YAY!
