From thinkbroadband.com
A trial has been running looking into whether Openreach can squeeze more speed out of VDSL2 for some lines with no hardware changes in the cabinet or by the customers VDSL2 modem and it seems on Monday 20th March, this limited area trial is set to go national.

My downstream SNR margin started falling a few weeks ago, and is currently sitting at 2.0 dB. Since this started happening the line has remained very stable (current DSL up-time is 21 days 7 hours and some minutes/seconds).
I've gained around 10Mb/sec downstream since this started, so I presume I've been part of the trial.

So is it only on the downstream?

Midday yesterday the Router re-booted, the downstream SNR dropped from 6 to 3db and it gained around 10Mb/sec downstream. Shortly afterwards I had to make system changes to the Router which re-booted itself. SNR and downstream speed reverted to what it was previously
Anyone think the DLM will try again or is that it ?

Looks like my cabinet is now in the trial as in the ;last 3 weeks DLM has lowered my snrm to 3dB (goes up to 4.8 sometimes.
HH5 Type B says...
5. | VDSL uptime: | 0 days, 04:38:09 |
---|---|---|
6. | Data Rate: | 20000 / 79237 |
7. | Maximum Data Rate: | 32217 / 79820 |
8. | Noise Margin: | 13.9 / 3.1 |
9. | Line Attenuation: | 15.7 / 14.5 |
And BT test shows...
1. Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
Download Speed | |
63 Mbps |
0 Mbps | 72.89 Mbps Max Achievable Speed |
Download speedachieved during the test was - 63 Mbps For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 40 Mbps-72.89 Mbps . Additional Information: IP Profile for your line is - 72.89 Mbps |
2. Upstream Test: -provides background information.
Upload Speed | |
17.34 Mbps |
0 Mbps | 20 Mbps Max Achievable Speed |
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 17.34Mbps Additional Information: Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 20 Mbps |
But Plusnet speed is resolutely set at 66Mb
Shouldn't the Plusnet speed automatically follow the BT one?
If not can a nice person nudge my speed up please.

Same thing here.
Just gone through the process to reduce my snr to 3 dB, BT profile at 77.35 but Plusnet stuck at 71.8
Max: Upstream rate = 23782 Kbps, Downstream rate = 82304 Kbps
Bearer: 0, Upstream rate = 19999 Kbps, Downstream rate = 79999 Kbps
Bearer: 1, Upstream rate = 0 Kbps, Downstream rate = 0 Kbps
Down Up
SNR (dB): 3.6 15.1
Attn(dB): 17.3 0.0
Pwr(dBm): 14.0 7.3
The current Downstream BRAS rate is: 77.35 Mbps
The current Upstream BRAS rate is: 20 Mbps
Been stable for 12 days now so could do with a nudge plus net's end.
Thanks
Kevin

I've yet to see the Plusnet line speed go up automatically with increased sync speed yet it seems to drop down within days when the sync speed drops. I've had to request a manual increase twice this year after my line speed was capped following a fault and a new router that required some tweaking to increase the sync rate. Your current line speed can be checked here:

@Kevin and @kevinduke
I've just given your profiles a nudge.
Can you perform a single disconnect/reconnect and let us know how your throughput looks?
