Openreach To Cut Minimum Term To 1 Month For FTTC Connections

Just spotted this on ISPReview

http://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2017/07/openreach-cuts-uk-fttc-fibre-broadband-contract-terms-1...

I wonder whether Plusnet and other ISPs will pass this on to consumers, considering many seem to think 18 - 24 month contracts are acceptable

As Plusnet currently offer a non-contract option for ADSL this would seem to be a logical addition to their product range.

One would imagine that such a contract would have no free router, no free set up an no free other costs which are spread over the cost of extended contracts.

Many ISPs are now charging activation/setup fees for fibre connections (Plusnet is one of them) + 'router delivery' charges anyway...

I thought Openreach look after the network and infrasructure? Is it not BT Wholesale that ISPs purchase their broadband from?

Our broadband suppliers are BT Wholesale. Their suppliers are Openreach.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.
