every sites is fine with virgin media cable. Only the problem is down on plusnet.

Appears to be a traffic routing issue rather than DNS. Cache services like opera turbo also returning sites as unreachable.

sorta fix I did: Cyberghost VPN premium (Or any VPN that has a UK server). Premium supports P2P (gaming). Used it and didn't notice a difference
the free Cyberghost will be fine for everything apart from gaming / torrenting.
these are the speeds I get (my Plusnet fibre is about 45Mb / 12Mb which I have QoS limited to 40Mb / 10Mb):

(It uses OpenVPN with compression to, depending on their servers load, up to double your speed if not more than double :D)

Not paid by Cyberghost or anything btw, just saying what I have tested in this situation.

Plusnet DNS servers defo aren't forwarding the requests. Changing the DNS lookups to include 8.8.8.8 and checking via NSLOOKUP indicate it's just the plusnet recommended servers affected. I've modified the LAN settings of my Plusnet to add 8.8.8.8 instead of the defaulting to plusnet DNS (via the 0.0.0.0 entries)

Still down. I can only manage to connect to a few sites.
Youtube for example is fine but Google.co.uk and many other sites still not responding.

On your router change Primary DNS to 8.8.8.8 (Google)

Facebook works, twitter doesnt.
Bing works, Google doesnt.
Off to work soon so hopefully it will be fixed later

Went down sometime after 1am for me.  I'm not anywhere near any of the locations listed for maintenance.
I normally use OpenDNS.  Had to switch to google to get this far.
Looks like there is a fault somewhere after 195.99.126.182 -
