Ongoing Intermittent Issues

Morning all, 

I've raised a fault (126114618 if anyone wants to take a look) about this but I was hoping to get some advice on how to get this resolved properly, once and for all.

Ever seen we've had fibre we've had issues with our DP, well the pair we're on to be more exact, which seems to be very noisy but our DP has no spare pairs to move us to. 

We're slap bang in the middle of 2 poles, and at one point one of the openreach engineers did suggest moving us to the other as there was only 3 pairs in use on that one but it never happened as he couldn't see an issue when he was there (it was dry and sunny)

 

The next engineer did spot an issue after 3 hours of monitoring our line, and he said he found the issue was the box on our DP was full of water / condensation which he'd dried out and put a job in to be replaced (not sure this was ever replaced) however come winter the issue returned which makes me think it wasn't replaced or the issue is somewhere else but we just sort of lived with it, however it's not come back and it's causing drop outs and some (slight) packet loss which is more noticeable when using the connection, it often becomes sluggish and a streaming video is impossible.

 

Anyway - I think we really could do with being moved to a spare pair on the other DP near us, is there any way Plusnet can request this if Openreach are sent out again? From everything that's happened / been said it seems like this would resolve the issue, but because the issue is intermittent / dependant on the weather, the issue rarely presents itself when the engineer is there.

Hi there.

I'm putting this thread on your fault ticket for a bit more information for our faults guys.

We will do our best to convert this information over to Openreach, though if things lead to an engineer appointment, it's definitely worth letting them know the history of the fault.

We've had the same engineer a bunch of times now so hopefully we'd get him again and he remembers.
