You are currently connected to gateway pcn-bng03.
According to my router:
Connection Time | 16 Day(s) 21:21:53 |
So I assume that's where I've been all the time.
A bit rough but still good. So it seems that bng03 is okay.
Test performed: Win 10/Chrome/HTML5 tester.

Something funky is going on ... nothing has changed at my end at all. But suddenly the latency drops back down to sensible levels....
Edited to add : Its all just gone wrong again......
Edited again to add : and with the 3 to 5% packet loss my IPTV Channels start breaking up... again...

I stand corrected. I just got my first rubbish TBB speedtest and I'm still on bng03. That test ran at about 1Mb/s so I abandoned it and restarted and it got a normal test. So that suggests it isn't directly related to the gateway. For me bng03 is almost always fine.

I do t think the gateway hop solves it, rerun the test and it's fixed.
I do think though that once this gets fixed it will clear up lots of packetloss that is causing many other problems at the same time like buffering video slow web pages dns lookup problems etc

I wouldn't expect any improvement anytime soon, im still being told that an engineer visit is required to fix this issue and if i don't have one they will close my fault ticket(even though the tests say no engineer visit is required), this is despite me telling them that i have had a conversation with an Openreach engineer and after explaining what is happening they told me point blank they won't be able to help as its not a line or exchange equipment fault and its not the first time this sort of issue has happened, it requires the network team at Plusnet to find the miss configuration on the network.
My downloads from dropbox and my Skydrive/onedrive accounts are bouncing all over the place today from 50kbps upto 4.2MBps.

Just to add a bit from me, I was at my daughters place in London for the past few days, did not have my laptop with me, only an iPad, but I ran the test on her Infinity line, and got the odd results too. Did the same test a few minutes later and all was OK.
Now I am home, it seems OK down here at the moment.

Cool. Another dodgy test for me:
So I run another test:
So now I'm beginning to question the TBB HTLM5 tester just a little bit 😕
