Well, the first issue with getting poor performance (I guess) was due to something on Plusnet's network, probably a congested gateway.
The second issue with the high latencies and packet loss is because I noticed my IP address was being routed through a proxy. I don't use a proxy but according to http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ip.html, my browser, Opera; decided to use Opera Turbo due to the poor performance which increased the ping only browser wise.
Now with the Opera Turbo and whatever VPN they're supplying are turned off it is much more better with a stable result. Additionally, I noticed my BT Bras Profile has actually increased a bit, which I am happy of as well I would have thought with all of these Christmas lights emitting radiation, it would have decreased.
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ip.html
What's My IP? You appear to be going though a proxy! Proxy IP 82.145.XXX.XXX (n10-XXXXX.opera-mini.net) A "proxy" is a server between your computer and our website which could be doing filtering (as frequently used in corporate environments) or caching (storing the page locally nearer to your computer to make it faster to load). Some Internet Service Providers also use proxies. Your IP is reported as: 80.XYZ.XX.XX (XYZ.plus.com) What is an IP address? An IP address is the "Internet Protocol" address which identifies your computer to the rest of the Internet. It's a bit like a telephone number on the phone network. Your IP address as shown on this page is what every single website you visit will see. This information may be useful in troubleshooting connectivity problems.
So I've learnt something new, make sure you take a speedtest with any sort of browser filtering stuff like hijacking your requests through a proxy off!
Weirdly enough, I got a very high speed test result. Probably anomalous seeing my profile is set at around 71Mbps.
And then a much more realistic result
Swiss Army Knife for diagnosing all your issues

I'm absolutely not using a proxy (and just checked it to be absolutely sure). Also I always test wired.
Current gateway is fine but so was the last one for a week and then bam, rubbish x1 test results. Might have been to do with Plusnet moving more users onto it as they continue implementing the new network.

This is what im currently dealing with and im told there is no congestion whatsoever on my line or the network and its a wireless signal issue, all my devices are wired(only one in use at a time) and Plusnet are aware of this yet they still blame it on my wireless signal.
Your HTTPx6 speed is vastly different to the tbbx1 result
This suggests an RWIN, congestion or other problem

Just looking at what is on these forums it's obvious this is not a problem with an individual line. They just don't want ti admit the oroblems with the new network. When my contract is up I will find a decent ISP that actually has customer support.

Definitely a Problem with the new network but its a intermittent fault .
Anoush PN staff on a previous thread found a fault Not the same BUT did say NO ONE works in faults on a weekend ?

This makes interesting reading http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/plusnet/4519937-single-thread-speed-issues.html#Post4520006
And i like this comment
Secretive is not the word.
Uncommunicative is more like it.
Posting on their forum is quickly becoming a waste of time as staff ignore more posts than they help with.
And anytime you mention performance issues, well that will be ignored for a month or two until lots of people complain and ISPREVIEW gets involved. Then they will admit to an issue and start looking at this

I've given up running tests - just got too depressing.
Plusnet seem to be in total denial that there is something fundamentally wrong with their wonderful "new" network.

Interesting thread. however I have a static IP and have been on AG gateways in the past. I've ended up on one of the new IR gateways one time.
Then again have we been given any info about the new network, people have to piece together what we can

For me the communication has been woeful, its gone from a member of the forum staff telling me my line was fine and my exchange was congestion free, to a call from a member of staff telling me no faults where found and then going on to say it was a contention issue with a hot vlan which BT had fixed, this was then followed up by a reply to my ticket with no fault found its a wireless signal issue and i need to change the channel, this was despite my ticket stating im using a wired connection only.
The previous times i've had issues(and its 21 weeks since i had no issues)i had my account artificially capped to 40/2, they offered to move me to FTTP to solve this despite FTTP not being available to me, when i pointed that out communication ended, when the packet loss reared its head i was told there where no problems(despite many reports on this forum) and it took months for them to even acknowledge the issue.
I don't expect this time to be any different.

The single thread speed test is also looking bad on PCN-BNG01.
The multi threaded test is as expected considering we have teenagers in the house streaming etc
Something is definitely wrong with the BNG gateways located at the BT Colindale & South Bank sites.
I have never had such a terrible single thread speed test using the PTN, PTW or PCL gateways.
I hope PN will engage with the community and address the current poor performance but given the continual downward trend in customer support I am not confident...

So what we are seeing seems at face value to be a different problem to the packet loss issues. those we saw lots of packetloss that drains the performance of a connection. I left winmtr running all day, at the same time as running ad-hoc speed tests and I cant get over 10-20meg on a 70mb line, so there is definitely an issue as seen on the tbb graphs - although even here I think there are 2 issues as some are slow perf on just single threads and ok on multiple, and some people are just always slow.
for me though no real packetloss, 35k pings and 0.2% loss, so there is something else up for some of us at least!
