No internet for over a week.

Hi,
please can someone help me! Sad
I recently upgraded my broadband to fibre, but it has never come on. The router was sent and was working fine under my old package, with the fibre to activate last Wednesday (15th). That afternoon it went down. Orange bar flashes for around 15 seconds, before going solid with a red flashing 'b'. On the day, I assumed this was good - Old one switching off and the new one activating. Sadly this wasn't the case, as it has been doing the same ever since.

An engineer was to come out today (between 8 and 1) but surprisingly (?) no one has turned up. I've received some updates during the week, but they don't mean a great deal to me.

For over a week I've been paying for literally nothing, and I've sat in all day today for literally no reason.
Can someone please help sort this, as it's getting beyond a joke. Thanks.
